Course Reflections

I had high expectations for this class and you exceeded them. I'm very excited about my cross cultural collaboration project and feel I now have the tools to make this happen. Thanks for all your help.

Introdution 2

The site I posted is not the site I'm particularly interested in. It is a simple site with information about technology troubleshooting.

I want to create a site around the project I have begun to outline in this blogg. The purpose is to provide a venue (s) for students in San Mateo, California and Cape Town South Africa to communicate, collaborate and create. It is project based, scalable and not grade or curricular specific.

Collaboration Model

The idea is for young people in San Mateo and Cape Town to communicate and collaborate with the overall goal to increase global awareness and understanding. Initially I can see them just getting acquainted; exchanging names, family situation, hobbies, music, etc. I would also like them to share their opinions about important issues of the day; Dafur, global economic meltdown, global warming. Ultimately I would like them to create a collaborative project centered on their hopes and aspirations for their community, country and the world

Introduction

I'm interested in using Google Tools to communicate and collaborate between students in California and South Africa. I'm a history teacher a Aragon High School in San Mateo. I had the opportunity to work at LEAP Math and Science School last summer.

LEAP is an English language full immersion FET (Grades 10 – 12) intervention school aimed at securing access to universities (including technology universities) with English, Maths and Science on the highest grade, from its matriculants. There are current 3 schools, two in Cape Town and one in Johannesburg.

An intergral part of the program is a Life Orientation class.
